Oh, but Jay, thank goodness your employees don't have to pay most of that
stuff. You do! No sweat off their backs, right? That's the truly sad thing about our tax system -- and also its brilliance. If each worker had to pony up their taxes at the end of each week, in the form of a check to the Gubmint, there would be an immediate and violent revolution in this country. However, because the Gubmint has been smart enough (devious enough?) to get the employers to pay it BEFORE the worker receives his check, it's "painless" and transparent. Out of sight, out of mind.
