Okay,

I have bought over 10 different GPS that I used for
min 10hrs each. So far, the best GPS has been the
AvMAP IV. It is the best. We mounted several in dash
on the cessna 172's. It beats the pants off of anything
else. You can mount it side ways and it fits nicely into
the 172 dash. We had to to move the ADF, DME and
transponder to the right side of the dash. There is
a dash mounting kit available, but we made out own.
It can be coupled to the autopilot but does not have
mode s. This unit kicks ass over the stupid MFD500 that
cessna charges over $5000 for.
