Well I beg to differ, since alot of trained pilots are no longer eligible to
fly per the FAA due to medical reasons...I hope the SP rule will end up
helping them as well should they chose to fly again.
No I may not be a pilot but I bet you I have made as many planes able to
fly as you have flown in the last 25 years. It's time all of aviation stands
together for the good of aviation and stop the "country club " attitude
towards flying. Remember there are alot of pilots that are not even born
yet...it takes more than official training , it takes the heart and the
freedom of spirit to fly.
Not even to mention I know alot of pilots of the Navy and Marine Corps
that would tell you, you are not a pilot unless you can land on a carrier
with no moon at night 600 miles out at sea in a storm......I am sure the Air
Force has "what" they would call a pilot as well.
Myself I am just happier than a bug in a rug that this new rule will
give someone like me that can not get a medical the chance to finally fly my
own plane. After 25 years building other peoples and fixing others I think I
am due !
