Carb heat goes on as soon as I enter the downwind, and the power comes off when I am abreast my landing spot. I advance the throttle at least once on each leg for a couple seconds. If I need power on final, I add it and give myself a D for that landing. If I glide right in, I give myself a C. If I have to slip, it's a B. An A is awarded only for a perfect wheelie. In any event, it's a glide from abreast the landing spot. Never tried it on a carrier ![]() -- all the best, Dan Ford email (put Cubdriver in subject line) Warbird's Forum: www.warbirdforum.com Piper Cub Forum: www.pipercubforum.com the blog: www.danford.net |
