Come to think of it, I don't think I've ever used one of these tools that wasn't... not that they don't exist. -Rob Rob, et al, I have flightprep.com's Golden Eagle software (the free version) installed on both my desktop and laptop computers and use it offline for basic flight planning before I hit the sectionals. It does show obstructions and will also display a side-view of the topography along your route. Also shows which parts of your route are along airways. You can get free basic updates too.
