There are enough to hold a Women's championship, and I remember reading (and seeing) that female glider pilots in the UK are something like 10% of the total. Jim's comments are directed at the US, but clearly there are drivers (like a strong club structure I'd think) that are not likely to change in the States. No solutions, just observations.......... And there've always been women pilots here in the UK who have distinguished themselves one way or another. I can think of at least two women national champions (Sally Wells, Anne Burns), and some of us are old enough to know how much we all owe to Anne Welch.
