Yea, if it is not good weather (really good, so my dad says) then we are
not going. While I understand that and appreciate that, it's also kind
of frustrating because he wants to make his go/no-go decision Friday
afternoon when Sat AM may have a totally different perspective.

In reading the NOTAMs and talking with my instructor, I tihnk my route is
going to be (more or less), SLE-UBG-HIO-SPB-KSL-TDO-1S0-Lake Tapps (E. VFR
Transition Rte)-S43-Green Valley-AWO. It's going to be busy enough Sat
morning that I'll be hoppin'

You might as well study the western route too though. There may be fog or
low clouds Saturday (or any day, for that matter ), and it's hard to tell
in advance where they will be. Often they are over the water, and staying
east along the foothills is a good tactic, but sometimes it's not so much
the clouds as the visibility, which can be pretty bad up against the
foothills, while still reasonably decent over the Sound.

In other words, either plan could be superior, and you won't know until just
before takeoff which one is.

Pete
