I've been to local fly-ins with 120+ planes flying in and out of smaller airports (MKT, 0K7, SPW, etc.) within a few hours without need for temporary traffic control. I agree, and I'd further add that you shouldn't do it unless you have a professional air traffic controller. I've been to fly-ins where well-intentioned non-professionals on the unicom just couldn't stop talking and arriving aircraft couldn't get a word in to announce themselves. Dave |
