AOPA Plane Giveaway and Taxes
In a previous article, said:
The fact that AOPA didn't pay for upgrades is meaningless when calculating market value. If an owner inherits a plane, is worth less than if he or she had purchased it? Actual market value has nothing to do with what one particular owner paid for the item. No, but adding $250,000 worth of stuff to a $100,000 aircraft does not make it worth $350,000.
