It seems like the Next Big Thing for traffic is ADS-B. We're bouncing this around for our club aircraft now. TIS has wider coverage today, but we're concerned about its longevity. If we'd a failed transponder, the incremental cost for a mode S transponder would be small enough that we'd do it. But to throw out a perfectly good mode C transponder for something that will be replaced in a relatively short time seems inefficient. - Andrew |
