They will probably hang the tower manager as a scapegoat. Yeah, I saw that. It wasn't clear to me the policy violation had anything to do with the accident though. As the news explained it, the policy was to have a radar controller in addition to the tower controller. They also say that the tower controller was distracted doing a "traffic count". AFAIK, having a radar controller on duty wouldn't have affected that. Or is a traffic count something that the radar controller would have done? Pete |
