As much as I agree that flight sim problems are rarely solved with real world flying solutions, and that he may be asking some of the questions in the wrong group, I have to say that I am also a flight simmer! And yes, I am learning to fly. I only have 1 hour so far, so have just begun my journey, but just because I am not a real pilot yet, doesn't mean that some of my curious questions that arise from the simming world might not be worth listening to from a real world pilot point of view. You need to remember that just because a thread has been posted, it doesn't mean you have to read it. Crash Lander (I'll vouch for "Crash" ... he's good people (in a usenet kinda way...gdr)) The difference here CL, is that Mx: 1) Has preconcieved notions 2) Is unwilling to accept the answers he's given 3) Insists the answers he's given are wrong and already knows exactly why (adjunct to point #1) No one here will hesitate to inform, enlighten and help educate new pilots if the impression is given (and it can be real or imagined...) that the person posing the questions can actually read the info, digest it and be grateful for the help. Hell, no one would even care if you wanted to debate an issue provided you do so with logic and facts based on real world experiences or observations. Just don't come in here telling hundreds of pilots with experience levels ranging from newbie to multi-thousands of hours that you know better than they do because your computer sim doesn't work that way. Best of luck with your training. Post early and often as you go... Jay Beckman PP-ASEL Chandler, AZ Judging from the long threads with little new posting from responders, I think this particular gentleman may have already run his race on the pilot forums :-)) So far, he has me definitely needing more dual so that I come to better understand the basics of giving flight instruction , Pete Duniho needing more instrument time so that he understands what flying IFR is actually all about, and at last peek...(I'm just lurking here mind you...can't wait to see what happens next... ) whether Todd Pattist needs some help with his aerodynamics :-)) My personal opinion is that I hope this guy never leaves. Watching this is more fun than a human being should be allowed to have in one lifetime :-)))))))))))))))))) Dudley |
