guarantee that it will be successful - I think it's only about 1 or
2%
of the
boys who had it done went on to be great singers.

Anyway, sound ideals have changed over the centuries, and it's

castrato voice would be as popular today. Period performance is all
very well,
but audiences don't have period ears :-)

Women seems to like castrati for some reason. Not sure why.
