No need for a switch. The 302 detects climb using the GPS and will
display a circular arrow while in circling mod, and nothing while in
cruise.

Why not just go fly with it and compare to the other vario?

Oh, and be sure to check the TE page and make sure that it's around
100 if not using a TE probe, and near 0 if using a probe.
