Or so the Navy's history folk claim. They list, on page 534 of the
Serial Numbers list, the XFL-1 (BuNo 1588). This is the Airabonita. The Navy cancelled Bu Nos for five more F2L-1s (page 552). Cancelled was the purchase of two P-63s (Bu Nos 90060-90061; page 549). On that same page is a listing for two F2L-1Ks, Bu Nos 91102 and 91103; for what purpose? Were these the L-39s used for swept-wing tests? |
