Default Dutch Spitfire landed hard

Memory is a bit foggy here - but I have a recollection of a DC-3 being
dressed up as "Uiver" pre/early 1984, and flown to Australia in some sort of
commerative flight. (London to Melbourne Air Race?)
If this is the case I have a nice picture of the aircraft touching down at
Charleville that may be worth posting here.
It may have been to celebrate this event (hope the link works):-

The commerative flight being to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the above
event.
If you search www.pictureaustralia.org and use uiver as your search key it
will bring up a number of pictures.

The aircraft at Albury is certainly a replica of the original

Which is not it's actual registration.
I think you'll find that the Uiver is still at Albury in Australia,
awaiting restoration. See this URL:

Nor is this the aircraft you'd have us believe.

Both aircraft are dressed up as "Uiver", but neither of them are.
The real "Uiver" has long since left the skies, having crashed at Rutbah
Wells, Iraq in 1934.
