They were confused because when you push the tiller the boat moves toward you, and we could sometimes help them by explaining that the linkage was 'reversed'. I never had a lick of trouble with that. I think it was partially because you can see which way the rudder is moving. I've spent a lot of time on a tiller. I even broke one (delaminated the fiberglass) one time in a race, that was blowing pretty hard with a little too much jib up! g -- Jim in NC |
