I'm a modest time pilot (Commercial ASEL IA) with about 1100 hours and perhaps 50-100 hours/year who hesitates to undertake a twin specifically because of landing speed. Not because of normal landings but off-field. Right or wrong, I think that with my level of proficency that I'm less likely to kill myself with a slower off- field landing in a single than a twin. If I flew every day then I would probably have more confidence that I would actually get a twin cleaned up and make a "normal landing rather than mow down the trees at the end of the runway at a higher speed. |
