His dates were wrong, but the facts are correct. The USSR was the single largest supplier of oil to Nazi Germany up until the day the Germans invaded the Soviet Union. Trains were still rolling into Germany from the USSR loaded with oil and other strategic materials as the Germans crossed into Soviet Territory. As a matter of interest, I believe Sweden was the next largest supplier. Sweden bought oil from foreign sources and resold it to the Germans. |
