Do you really mean that? Cheers Yes, he does; and yes, he is correct. You have gone back to thinking in only two dimensions; and therefore ignoring the effects of vertical acceleration. Nope, the plane's vertical acceleration is 0 so all that matters is that the lift must equal the weight. As the plane banks the lift vector is no linger in line with the weight so the load factor is increased by 1/cos(bank angle) and the stall speed is proportional to the square root of the load factor.
