Anniversary
Today I marked the 50th anniversary of my first solo flight
with a solo flight flight from Pilot Country Airport (X05) to Zephyrhills (ZPH) in the Tampa Bay area of Florida. My first solo occured out of NAS Saufley Field as a Naval Aviation Cadet in T-34B BUNO 144098, Sept 1958. Today's flight was in a friend's 1959 C-172 REG N7000T. In between the two, I have logged over 22,000 hours of flight time, 9.5 years US Navy, 25 years Airline, and about 7 years Civilian Flight Instructing.
