Here goes for my translation, will post my comments and thoughts separately:
Ce moteur peut sans problème donner le 150Cv prévus pour la voiture en continu voire plus si tu conserve le couple maxi a des rpm plus élevés (méthode utilisée par thielert). This engine can deliver without problem the 150 HP as in the automotive application, even more if you keep up the couple at higher RPM's; the same method was applied by Thielert. En fait c'est le couple qui est limitatif sur un diesel: ne jamais dépasser le couple maxi. Tu peux en revanche conserver ce couple maxi un peu plus haut dans les tours que dans l'usage automobile. Avec un échappement sans filtre la puissance peut probablement aller au delà de 180Cv par analogie avec les 135/90 cv du premier Thielert. In fact, in a diesel the torque is the limiting factor: never go beyond max. torque. On the other hand you could keep this max. torque at higher rpm than in the automotive application. Without the exhaust filter, the power might go over 180HP, as it did in the 135/90HP of the first Thielert. La puissance est directement liée au débit et tu as un débit par cycle maxi pour le couple maxi. Power is directly tied to fuel flow and the flow per cycle is at its greatest at the max. torque. Une csp de 180g/cv/h doit être possible sans problème mais le poids de l'ensemble prêt a animer un avion sera de toute façon moins favorable que celui d'un IO360. A specific fuel consumption of 180g/HP/hour should be possible without any problem, but the weight of the complete engine ready to power an aircraft would be less favourable than an IO360's. |
