On a similar note, I sometimes do the same with emails that have ****loads
of recipients in the Cc: field.


I once got one of those useless virus warnings from a supplier. The
dick put his whole address book in the To: field - including fax numbers for
his fax server.

It ****ed me off that I downloaded a 300k message (on dial-up no less), only
to find 5 lines of text about a virus that didn't exist. So I went
into the message source, copied the To: field addresses into Word, replaced
the commas with tabs and imported the whole mess into Excel. Within
5 minutes, I had his entire contact database, his Government contacts,
consultants, customers, my competitors, even a few prospects that he was
working on. There were dozens of people who shouldn't know about
each other - but were on the same list, it was priceless.


Apart from calling a few of his contacts, I emailed the list back to him and
suggested he use the Bcc: field.
