Concorde didn't get to the Pacific Northwest very often - icing tests
at Moses Lake, WA; special charters and a visit to the Expo 86
Abbotsford Air Show - but think I managed to catch every visit.

But we have one on permanent display here in Seattle at The Museum of
Flight.

Hey Bob! Thanks for those images! They are great! I was at Abbotsford for
Expo 86 as well. I managed to get some snaps as well but they are on slides.
I had the slides scanned but the scans are not to my liking. Did you get a
major league sunburn like I did? I was lobster red for a week! OUCH! Still,
it was worth it to see Concorde flying around. Sadly, that was the only time
I saw the aircraft in flight. I've seen a few of them on the ground at
Heathrow (1978). That was it. : (

I hope to get out to Seattle one day and visit the Museum Of Flight and pay
a visit to the Concorde on display there.

Take care,

Nick

Thank you.

Over the years I've been alternately baked and drowned at Abbotsford
shows - and several times, especially in the old days before they got
too snooty, utterly pleased and jaw-droppingly impressed.

Do come visit the Puget Sound! The Museum of Flight is quite
impressive, and we have amazing things going on at Paine Field a few
miles north of town with the Paul Allen Flying Heritage Collection,
the upcoming William Sessions museum, and the Future of Flight Center.
And if you want to go a little farther from town, there are great
museums in other parts of Western Washington - Bellingham and Olympia
coming to mind off the top of my noggin.

Speaking of drowned at Abbotsford, here's a shot from 1992 when the
Ukrainians showed up with a pair of MiG-29s. It poured during the
morning, but dried up for the afternoon. Another year it deluged all
day, nothing flew and the cameras drowned...
