I really wish that problem was confined to usenet, in which case it would
only be either interesting or annoying--depending upon one's viewpoint on
a given subject at any given time. Unfortunately, it appears to be a
small part of a much larger problem. ):-(

ISTM we are experiencing a decline in respect for others that is
accompanying the 'dumbing down' and 'meaning' of society, which when
combined with intolerance and ignorance is making us all poorer in life and
spirit.
