boost the thrust, which it did and does.

Mid 1950's we used "deionized water" (whatever that is) in warmer climes and
"water-alcohol" in colder climes (freezing on the ground wasn't real cool)
Attached "Youtube" clip, (not mine) which many have already watched,
is a B-47E takeoff run with "water-alcohol" or "deionized water", as well as
33, 1000lb thrust "JATO" bottles burning on the jettisonable "horsecollar"
rack. Even with all that, a heavy weight B-47 would have to be launched
after runway temperatures dropped below triple digits
