Ken I would have had extended landing gear and put the tank under the fuselage rather than do this. It would rather defeat the object of using the Lancaster as a bomber if the bomb bay couldn't be used. Yes it would. I thought maybe the tank was simply used for ferry missions. If that were the case, it would be easier to build the tank over/in the bomb bay. |
