Wings & Wheels fundraiser for US Junior Team

Wings & Wheels is organizing a Soaring Safari August 30 & 31 from Warner Springs, CA to Jean, NV. On August 30 we fly from Warner Spring to Jean and stay the night at Gold Strike Casino adjacent to the airport. August 31 we fly back to Warner Springs.

We are looking for your pledge to support the US Junior Team on the return trip home. Please pledge $0.10, $0.25, $0.50 or $1.00 per kilometer flown by Boyd Willat (US Junior Team Member) on August 31. The flight will be posted on OLC. We will be using OLC handicap distance to calculate the final donation amount.

Three, two place sailplanes have been donated for this event. The second seat in each has already been pledged with a donation. Two of the sailplanes are provided by Sky Sailing.

Want to participate? Get coached by US Team members who will be flying the two place sailplanes. Bring your glider to Warner Springs, CA and fly with us. You will learn cross country techniques in a lead and follow format with a morning briefing and evening debriefing. Donations to the US Junior Soaring team are accepted, of course.

There are many airports to land along the way if necessary. We have a tow plane flying with us along the way to re-launch if needed.
