I found this article from Borgelt Instruments useful.
http://www.borgeltinstruments.com/Leaks.html For me, I had a leak in a tiny little calibration tube used with a Scheumann compensator. The tubing literally disintegrated when I touched it. It was rarely checked because the Scheumann is installed behind the gear with an inspection panel access. The article pointed me to Permatex Aviation Form-A-Gasket No.3 Non Hardening sealing compound which was especially useful for the Scheumann tube replacement since the tubing I had to use wasn't the ideal fit. Also, found a leak in a vario capacity flask... And watch out for the all-in-one tubing connectors (or whatever they're called), the little o-ring in those tend to deteriorate. These are identified by multiple tubes leading into a threaded cylinder shaped connector. T-connectors are preferred over these...
