is anyone tracking the NabvWorks ADS-600B?

they claim to offer a single box that complies with the 2020 mandate for certified aircraft, starting at 1,999 + install. there an STC for lots of GA aircraft, but no gliders (yet).

I am not sure why this box deserves any mention on r.a.s. but it's been flogged to death here before.

UAT only not 1090ES. Not a transponder. Not compatible with TCAS/TCAD.

Not compatible in any way with PowerFLARM.

Requires an external traffic display.

High battery drain. And on and on and on....

Given the prevalence of PowerFLARM (with it's 1090ES-In capability) in the USA this UAT technology would be the very last thing any sensible glider owner should want to install in their glider.

In terms of compliance, lets wait and see what happens with transponder and ADS-B Out carriage requirement exemptions for gliders. If those exemptions are removed then I hope/expect TABS to be moved in to fill this space, and TABS would be a much more appropriate technology for gliders in the USA than UAT transceivers. TABS has the potential to help both as a way to deploy current 1090ES Out capable transponders (with lower-cost TABS Class B GPS sources) as well as TABS specific (Class A) devices.
