Default Fatality in NZ South Island regionals :-(

Bruce,
I appreciate the posting of this accident via the initial media report. Though details are lacking, at least we have been alerted and can use further research to aid in overall safety, should one wish. E.g., I'll be visiting Omarama for the 3rd time in February and it serves as a heads-up for planning purposes. Not that it's related to management, but they do run a very tight/safe operation IMO.


To post like this before facts like the release of the identity of the
deceased pilot is in very poor taste and accomplishes nothing that is
positive. Especially when there are several very experienced Australian
pilots competing.
