That is the first F-5G I have seen with guns.
I believe that "Ruff Stuff" is a P-38L.

My mistake, it is actually a P38G-15-LO.

Nice pic...you take it?

Yup! That was at The California Capital Airshow in 2010 when they had
the six airworthy P-38s flying at the show.

...if so how do you like that Nikon D300S?

A little too steep for a retired guy like me...but you take good pics.

I retired back in 2009, and photography is one way I keep myself
occupied. I have spent about $9,000 on cameras, lenses, and other
photographic stuff, including software, since I retired.

My Nikon A900 is only a year old and my fourth Nikon Cool Pix.

There is nothing wrong with using that, provided you are happy with the
results, from the camera, and your own skills.

The only time I use one is on my daily walks...saw this American Bittern about
30 feet away in a creek behind a chain link fence...stuck the lens between the
links, in telephoto and pushed the button.

There's lots of manual settings you can access but for me, I just keep it in
'auto' mode.

Nice opportunistic capture.

To keep things on topic, here is a different bird shot at the Warbirds
Over Paso show in 2012. Also taken with the D300S and 70-300mm Nikkor
lens. That thing sounds like a flying concrete mixer.
