Hey Tom, LTNS

My understanding is they are going to keep a couple of T2s at PAX for
undetermined time as we really don't have a platform that can take it's
place for OFC.

VT 86 in Pensacola is going to take delivery of a handful of T2's to augment
their stable of Buckeys for NFO training.

Next time I am in your neighborhood, I'll stop by.

We still have a few here at Pax River for the Test Pilot School boys to

beat
up!

Gerry "Spinmeister" Gallagher still spends more time in OCF than the rest

of
the kids have in their logbooks!

Curiosity question:

What is happening to all the T-2s phased out of service?

Davis- Monthan? (Somehow "War Reserve" just doesn't sound right for the
Mississippi MiG.)
Foreign sales?
Civilian sales?
Smelter?
Artificial reef?

I assume several have / will become gate guards.

Sounds good Jake!

Yep TPS will hang on to the old gal as long as they can. We even have one
at VX-20 to chase the NP-2000 (that is an E-2 with the new 8 bladed props).
That thing sounds like a mosquito on steroids!

I understand that either 10 or 86 will get some T-6A's to get the 'FOs some
glass cockpit time. We have one at Pax and it is sweet!

I hope TPS manages to hang on to a few. That OCF program was one of the
best in the Navy. Hell....it was one of the best in the SERVICES for
that matter!! :-) A lot of guys are alive today, and birds were
recovered that might not have been recovered were it not for that OCF
program.
