Hi Sydney
As you know the P Baron was wrecked in the May 3 storm at San Marcos, TX,
HYI.
There's a picture he It was in the McKee aviation hangar.

Beegles repair bid was MUCH less (as in a new 172SP less) than anyone else;
Beech wouldn't touch it.
But it WAS repairable, legally, so I settled.

I'm parting it out.
Know anyone wants a pair of low time Victor Sloan TSIO540WB's?
The right one got pranged, but we'll send it to Palo Alto for a tear down.
How about an instantaneous VSI? Radar altimeter?
If I ever get out of this mess a Super Cub is all I want.
(Actually a Lancair IV-P Turbine heh heh -- )

The suggestions that you look at Aviation Consumer are spot on.

The Partenavia will fit what you want and probably be the lowest
operating cost twin due to fixed gear, but it makes up for it by
having a correspondingly higher purchase price. The Aztec will carry
the load you want, but may not make the range with IFR reserves when
full of people. The 310 will not carry quite the load of the Aztec,
but is about 20 knots faster. The Baron is a lovely airplane, but
depending on occupant weights, may or may not be able to take six due
to c.g. limitations. The Cessna T303 may fit your needs, there are
not many out there and they don't change hands often as the owners
seem to like them. For the Aztec/310/Baron figure $250-$300 per hour
for all operating costs, including hangar and insurance, maintenance,
overhaul reserve, etc., if you fly it about 200 hours per year.
Flying more will cut the hourly cost a bit as fixed costs are spread
over more hours.

The Twin Commanche and Skymaster probably won't carry what you have in
mind.

If you want more load carrying ability you'll need to go into the 400
series Cessnas or the Piper Navajo, or take a look at the new Adam
A500 that is coming out. Operating costs for the bigger engine
airplanes will be correspondingly higher, especially if you add
turbocharging.

(Sound of head slap) You're absolutely correct, with GAMIs the Aztec
will make the range easily. I've used them in a couple different
airplanes and they truly do what they say they will.

Hmmm, in something over five years of owning one I think I only filled
the seats on one trip. Eventually took out the right middle seat
because there was no need for six seats and it gave a lot of leg room
for the person in the right rear and allowed putting a small heater in
the cabin that I could run while the engine heaters were warming
things up out there.

Thing that really used to bug me was that the heater would decide to
trip off about every fifth or sixth trip in very cold weather. Never
figured out why.

If you can get high enough, it can unless the winds are nasty. That
is if you can go direct. (Kitty is giving me a backrub and reading
over my shoulder, pointing out my errors...)

If GAMIjectors do what they claim, it'd be even easier.
