God help us!!!!

He has been trying for several thousand years, but we won't let Him - He
will interfere with "our freedom" :-(

But since He is just a figment of some people's imaginations, the threat to
our freedom comes from those who appoint themselves to be His enforcers.

They're human. For every drunk pilot up flying that day there were

probably
thousands of drivers on the road that were over the legal limit. It's not
that pilots are more or less intelligent than the general population, it's
that right now every damn thing that any pilot does that is stupid is

going to
get national attention. It's myopic, unfair and ridiculous, but that's

what's
happening.

I disagree. I think pilots are definitely more intelligent than the average
population.

I'm not saying pilots are perfect - just read some NTSB reports. But being
a pilot requires a high level of functioning if you want to stay alive for
any period of time.

Good point. It would have been much worse in the days of only three
channels and respected anchors.

i saw the story on cbs and agree it was a sloppy one sided piece of crap,
but don't worry . just for the hell of it I went to work the next day and
asked all 37 people there if they had seen a report last night about
airplanes. a grand total of 3 yes 3 people remembered the report and only 1
person could give a reasonable account of it. it kind of confirms the in one
ear out the other attention span of today's television viewers.
so by all means scorch cbs news, they were incredibly sloppy but don't
worry most people will have forgotten it in minutes.\

p.s. in case anyone want to comment on my wasting time at work i m like the
army, I get more done by 7 a.m. than most people do all day.

When would that have been..."three respect anchors"? Evidence coming in
shows that the "respect" was badly misplaced (Cronkite, others).
