Steve Northcraft 875, 2098 65.44 mph First thermal, prior to the gate was 9 kts to 9000 feet, coloring our expectation for the day......very few clouds about 1/2 way down the first leg into Davenport and beyond, about 15 short of Wilson creek, clouds went away and stayed that way to Kramer.......lift available but down low very strong headwinds about 24 mph, 12 mph at altitude. Scores are close......they are arranged in terms of today's finishing. Gary Kemp The Region 8 link through www.ssa.org lists some news from Charlie Lite for the Region 8 and Open Nationals event in Washington. http://www.ssa.org/members/contestre...ultsDetail.asp ?id=235 Sorry they didn't manage to cross post it under the Nationals page, but you can guess why after you check the Region 8 ramblings. Their June 29 wasn't as pleasant as in Pleasant Valley, AZ. Send them fifteen degrees, and maybe they can ship you 15 percent of their humidity and all will be well. Best wishes, Cindy B |

We appreciate Gary keeping folks up to date on the Nationals here in
Ephrata. Actually, the problem isn't with our scorer. We did not receive a direct post username and password for the scores site this year and though we are sending our contest report and the daily scores for both the Open class Nationals and the Region 8 contest daily to Hobbs, for some reason they are not being posted to the sites. We are doing our best to get the problem resolved but for the time being, look for Gary's reports. I will also see about getting copies of Charlie's daily reports and getting them posted to RAS as well so at least folks can see what is going on from here. Jay Todd |
