If you can get a copy of Inside War: The Guerrilla Conflict in Missouri During the American Civil War by Michael Fellman it describes some of the things that passed for war then and there. There is a rumor/belief that Missouri determined the South not to fight on in guerilla after Appomattox. |

That's because they are winning games, I was there when a 15-13 win over KU was the equivalent of a Orange Bowl win. |
