Didn't see anything about this in the archives. Anyone with a recommendation/good experience to share? Judge for yourself if it's a good deal or not Lincoln Benefit an Allstate affiliate has an aviation program GT Platinum. I applied and was excepted in 2003. I was 50 y/o at the time single engine land private pilot glider rated instrument rated, it costs me $100 per month for $500,000. This is a 15 year policy at this rate. Seems to me the conversation with the agent that sold this to me that they don't care for commercial or better rated pilots for some reason (exposure). |

Many life insurance policies deny all coverage when flying in experimental aircraft. If you don't ask they may not tell you, but it may well be in the "small print". Andy |

I went through this exercise as well. You need to be very
careful and speak to the ins. co. directly. The policy that I bought said that the aircraft "must be certified by a governmental agency". It does not say the FAA. Since my ' glider was certified by the country of origin, it was good as far as they were concerned. Bob Andy wrote: On Sep 16, 4:37 am, 5E wrote: Didn't see anything about this in the archives. My wife also demanded insurance. Northwest mutual explicitly allows
sailplanes if you have more than 100 hours, at no extra cost. (And cost is pretty low). John Cochrane. |

I'm using Northwestern Mutual also and had the same experience as John. They didn't bat an eye at the soaring. It was the mountain climbing that made them nervous. Older now and don't do that anymore so the premiums have gone down. Win some lose some.. Craig Funston |
