Hi,
I see that the TrackLog web site does allow for tracking groups, but I haven't played with it yet. I found that although TrackLog works in Internet Explorer, it works better (more information displayed) in Safari. Good Soaring, Paul Remde "Paul Remde" wrote in message ... Hi Werner, and everyone, That looks like a very cool app. I installed it on my iPhone and entered my iPhone ID into the TrackLog web page and it displayed my current position on the map. I think it would allow someone to follow my glider flight in real time. I don't see where it is possible to setup the display interval (as mentioned below). It would be neat if it could display the locations of multiple iPhones on a single map. Perhaps it can and I just haven't found that feature yet on the web site. That would be great for use at the local soaring club, or at contests. The web site is: http://tracklog.streckenflug.ch This could make SPOT tracking at contests obsolete - at least for owners of iPhones. I can't wait to use it at a soaring contest this summer. Of course, it doesn't replace the emergency features that a SPOT offers. Very cool! Paul Remde Cumulus Soaring, Inc. "Werner Rüegger" wrote in message ... Kirk 66 Hi Kirk, I found a nice little app called TrackLog. Allows you to follow a flight on real time on the computer with spots (intervals) every 3 sec or whatever you choose. Werner/EL |

Just that cell phone network thingy to sort out. But when it does not work as a tracker it serves as a handy AT&T coverage map generator. :- ( Nice looking app however. Darryl |

Yeah, as Darryl pointed, that cell phone network thingy makes it
pretty much worthless unless you fly below 3000 ft AGL near good reception area. I tried it and it worked nice until I climbed to above 3-4000 ft. It will also eat your battery really quick, like an hour or less. Good for tracking pattern flights :-) Ramy On Jan 6, 11:21*am, Darryl Ramm wrote: On Jan 6, 5:12*am, "Paul Remde" wrote: Hi Werner, and everyone, [snip]. Hi,
I look forward to trying it anyway. It may work better than you think. I hope it does. Best Regards, Paul Remde "Ramy" wrote in message ... Kirk 66 Hi I have recently released a new simple App called NOTAMs. Simply enter an origin, destination and alternate and you will be given NOTAMs for the each of these fields, fields en-route and and the FIR's. What's more, if a NOTAM text cotains a coordinate, it is plotted on a map along with the route. Usefull since I hate looking up all those little places I have never heard about. It is designed for use use in light aviation but I suppose it can be used by glider pilots. ( I know.. I have been flying gliders for over 20 years now!) Roeland |
