Default New SOLO pilot looking for suitable glider

I am assuming you fly in the UK?
Can I ask have you consulted your CFI/senior instructors on what may be a
suitable glider for you and discussed your wishes with other club
memebers/instructors?
I find it a little odd you should be asking these kind of questions on
r.a.s. I would have thought any experienced pilot/instructor at your club
or your CFI (Chief Flying Instructor) would have steered you in the right
direction, and informed you that you cannot get a whole D2 or LS8 for 30k -
a 1/2 share definitely.

A D1 is a lovely easy glider to fly, and a safe bet, as long as you are
compentent enough to fly an LS4 don't think you should have any issues with
one.
