Well, I am sure the controller's union will be happy about that.

Kerry could have come out for privatization and still got NATCA's
backing. It's a union, who else are they going to support?

After all, Stalin is dead and we can't find Hoffa...

You guys there in ZTL could pick up a few pointers from the guys running
traffic for the Vegas area. What the hell's going on there?

at ZTL, or L30?

L30 is pretty damn tight now. the newest installment of RNAV
procedures work WONDERFULLY for the place. Though, I'd really like to
see what will happen in the next couple of years when Ivanpah Int'l is
built, and how the 4 Corners Post is affected by it, and the shift of
Int'l and cargo flights to that field.

Dunno bro. My first thought was job action, except that NATCA holds
advanced union rep training in Vegas. In fact, there was a big love-in last
month out there. All of the NATCA High Lords and Ladies spent a lot of time
stuck in airports and airplanes trying to get in and out of Vegas in what
should have been routine crappy weather at their own facilities. You gotta
wonder...

Maybe when Atlanta gets her 5th runway we can go out to Vegas to learn how
to pack that 20 mile final.

Assuming everyone who flies is strupid enough to make their choice on that
single issue.

As I look at it, it isn't that important. If Kerry gets his way, few of us will
be able to afford to fly anyway.

Where are they putting the new one? Parallel to and south of the others?

yeah, I'm wondering where live shot was on this issue during
the clinton years.

In any case, I'm sure live shot won't waffle on this issue.

He'll probably turn over ATC functions to the UN after he's inaugurated.

Does this mean you will no longer be allowed to log unilateral
approaches?

It was routine but not even the newest TRACON controller calls 4000
scattered crappy.

Yep. Now if FAA can just get the ARTCC controllers back to the negotiating
table to redesign the Atlanta STARS the new runway might actually make a
difference in the arrival rate. ZTL controllers have pulled out of all of
the national, regional and local airspace workgroups because we don't have
enough staffing to attend the meetings. As it stands now, they will build
it but no one will come...

My experience in the large business arena says that not only will they
build it anyway, but someone who knows nothing about what needs to be
done to make it worthwhile will come up with and send out procedures
on how it will be used regardless of whether the people who have to
implement them are represented on the panel drawing them up or
not.....

Only if you don't bring forty passengers with you.
