Someday I hope to get the courage to attend one of these large fly-ins.

Peter, I flew in to Oshkosh for the first time this summer in an
Aircoupe (I had attended OSH a few years before, driving in). I too
wondered if I had the right stuff, but decided I didn't want to end up
65 years old and still wondering.

Well said Bob. Last year, with a mere 100 hrs., I wondered the same thing
(for about 30 seconds) after my brother and I decided to go to OSH. I'm so
glad I went. Hooked for life now. Someday I'll be able to say "I've been
coming to OSH for the past 20 years". Heck, maybe by that time I'll get a
chance to attend the pre-OSH party at Jay and Mary's hotel :-)

You know, Jack, when you're flying 3000 miles, what's an extra couple of
hundred, anyway?

Well, for the Allison rental pilots this year, every additional 100 nm would
add approx. $110 to the total cost. Last year, would have been approx. $90
per 100 nm. Dang, should have made the IOW stop last year. :-)

As usual Jay, great write-up. Thx. for posting. Some day, I'll make it to
S&F. At the moment, however, I limit my 3K+ mile x-country trips to once a
year at OSH.
