You have to learn to put in a charge, such as "this person said this" or
"that person said that".

All I have heard about this topic is that someone asked Bush if he had
"asked for help getting into the Guard". Bush replied "no".

I myself have been the beneficiary of various types of assistance that I did
not ask for. I know how it works.

You have to ask Bush if he RECEIVED any help if you want to get a valid
answer. And were he to be asked about any help he might have received, I
would hope he would be truthful.

But frankly, I don't care whether he got any help or not. For several months
in 1967 I kept $800.00 in a savings account. It stayed there until I failed
my draft physical. It cost $800.00 to get in the Guard back then.

If you can believe the evidence on this web site, daddy Bush pulled
strings to get baby Bush in the Texas ANG:

Truth and accuracy?

But did the person who got you into the "champagne" unit of the ANG
receive $23 million from the lotto lobby as a result of doing a
reciprocal favor for your daddy/governor?

On the web page there is this link:

Why don't you consider this letter to be evidence?

Because there's nothing there that fits the definition of "evidence". It's
an undated, unsigned statement that GHWB helped GWB enter the TANG. The
letter is not even credible! The statement that Bush "was placed ahead of
thousands of young men, some of whom died in Viet Nam" makes it look like a
fabrication from the anti-Bush crowd.

Tom
----------

“Any drinking or substance abuse problems?”

“Mr. Memphis, believe me, it would be a lie if I didn’t tell you some years
back, Bob Lee had a problem with the bottle and had some wild times. He’s
always in pain, you know, because of the way he was hurt in the war. But I
believe Bob Lee has found himself in some way. All he wants from life is
freedom and to be left alone.”

“What about medals? Has he ever said anything about medals? Are medals
important to him?”

“To Bob Lee? Let me tell you something, son—were you in the war or
anything?”

“No sir, I wasn’t.”

“Well, son, the only people that are interested in medals are the ones that
are fixing to run for office some day. I went from one side of Burma to the
other with General Merrill’s Marauders in 1943 and 1944, and the only man I
ever saw who wanted a medal or cared about a medal later became the only
governor of Colorado to be impeached.

So Barnes is a heavy contributor, and he's been bought at least once.
