Looks like it is actualy GATS Jar.

http://www.sportys.com/acb/showdetl....roduct_id=1279

Basically, it is a fuel sampler with a screen, so you can pour the
sample back in even if it has floaters in it.

We use one in our club Cheetah.

And the screen takes out more than floaters. When you drain the sumps, you
tip it so that everything flows around the screen (It covers about a third
of the top.) When you pour out thru the screen, surface tension will hold
the water in the jar. You can then dump the water on the ground.

One tip, don't leave it in direct sunlight. One of our members learned the
hard way. The jar part seriously distorted. Now it's kept in a cheap nylon
kit bag on the rear floor -- it's too big to fit well in the seat-back
pockets.

I use one at the hangar. Poor quality, but I do like the idea of not
pouring the fuel on the ground.

Is GATTS jar another name for a lawn mower?
If so, count me in!
Why would I throw it on the ground when I have the fastest lawn mower in
the west, just begging for a couple more fuel sampling cups full of
100ll?

Everyone on the tiedowns at my airport does that.
Don't know what the rich guys in the hangers do!
