Planning to go x-country in the US May next year. Routing will be (roughly): Houston - Chicago - Bangor - Jacksonville - Houston. Any airports along the way we should visit besides for refueling? Please advise. Thanks. Mark The Netherlands Recommend a stop at Cleveland's Burke Lakefront airport, a very nice downtown airport on the shore of Lake Erie, similar to the now-closed Meigs Field in Chicago. Happy landings, Ross Oliver |

He'll have to take a taxi(cab) from the airport to the museum. Lots of motels in the area: U-H is worth an overnight. Katama field on Martha's Vineyard (1B2) is always worth a stop and can
probably be worked into the Maine-Florida leg pretty easily. It's one of the largest and best-maintained grass strips in the country with a 4500' main runway that can handle anything smaller than a citation. May would be a great time to be on the Vineyard since everything will probably be open but the tourist crush won't have begun in earnest. If you want to spend a bit more time you could also make the run out to ACK. -cwk. "Mark Rademaker" wrote in message . .. Planning to go x-country in the US May next year. From Chicago, Kalamazoo, MI is only an hour east. Stop in at the Air Zoo on the
AZO airport. You won't regret it. |
