Via google translate:

Schempp -Hirth did not disappoint his fans. At AERO interested can take a first look at the new 18 - m- class aircraft manufacturer based in Kirchheim / Teck. But the details remain invisible. The new Ventus floats suspended high above the booth in Friedrichshafen.
Until the new Ventus flies , probably still take some time. In the trunk of the exhibit is still a mock up . Also, the wing is not finished yet .
The multi-part wing was completely redeveloped. The design was made with the advice of Dr. Wurz , who had participated in the success model Arcus . From the new Ventus one now expects a clear improvement in performance over the Ventus 2cx .

The secret has been revealed: On our AERO 2015 booth we proudly presented the new Ventus, a complete redesign, to the anxiously waiting fairgoers.

The 18m racer that was floating elegantly above our booth, showing its striking wing geometry, was probably the most-photographed gilder. The comment "What looks good also flies well" could be heard again and again.

Until then, however, we still have a long way to go. While the presented glider already showed the final, yet unfinished wing, the fuselage on display was still a mock-up. We aim for a maiden flight this year and want to begin serial production in time for the next competition season.

The Ventus' aerodynamic design has been created using a new design methodology based on real-flight experience and promises a noticeable increase of cross-country cruise speeds. We also aimed to ensure excellent handling both in the air and on the ground.

The airplane currently optimized for 18m wing span will be available as a glider, with Turbo and FES sustainer engines and as a self-launching version..

Besides the new Ventus, we exhibited our successful Arcus M and demonstrated the Discus 2c with the new FES system. This well-proven electric engine with its carefully fitted foldable front propeller has been another major attraction on our booth and we noticed tremendous interest in this remarkably simple to use, reliable and powerful sustainer system.
