They never left the 1-26.

Jo just flew the nimbus 3 for a while and got her 1000K in it.

1000K is still a little bit far for a 1-26, since the longest straight line
is around 440 miles.

Nope, not in a 1-36.
Since a 1-34 would provide all of these with similar low speed
performance to the Grob, similar cost, and still be a Schweizer, he must
just want to go slower.
