It is probably difficult to find a car rental company that hires
out cars with tow-hooks. (Rent a Wreck might do, but my personal experience with them was pretty bad...). I recommend you to check with the Schleicher factory if they have any contacts. (Perhaps you could rent a car from Avis/Hertz etc and swap cars with one of the Schleicher employees during the Worlds.) http://www.viamichelin.com is definetely the best route planner in Europe as pointed out already. On the way north, you could either pass through Denmark via the (fairly expensive) toll bridges or take a ferry from Northern Germany to Sweden. Personally I have found the ferries from Rostock or Travemunde to Trelleborg convenient, as you have the possibility of getting a few hours sleep to relax about mid-way. ( http://www.ttline.se ) Good luck! Nils wrote: I am posting for a US pilot that has found out at sort of a late date that he will compete at the world contest in Sweden. He would appreciate any information in regards to renting a suitable tow vehicle in Germany near or at the Frankfurt airport to collect a glider at Poppenhousen and the best route for the drive North to Eskilstuna, Sweden. Thanks Chuck |

3. When you're indicating 160mph, keep an eye on the rear-view mirror.
And whe you do 160mph with the COBRA trailer and the ASG 29, hold on to the steering wheel and watch out for police. Christian |
