Agreed on the locals, but KSAN is a really long cross country.

If you fly over Westover (CEF), watch for C5's doing pattern work, as
it is one amazing sight to see from above.

I live six miles from KBED. It's a short easy ride to KBED. It's 30+ minutes
to get to Norwood or LWM, etc. I also work on the base, which clearly
puts me even closer to the airplane.

There's certainly something to be said for living close to your plane. I
moved 15 miles away from mine and watched my usage drop 50%.

There's an airport closer, but they have no services, and the land is for
sale.
