Brian has always been in his own separate world. I worked with him for
a couple of years at Holloman in the AT-38 Fighter Lead-In program.
This was before his "sled" years. Lots of health issues were going on
regarding the burns and scarring. Good guy, but a seagull when it came
to flying. Had to throw rocks at him to get him airborne.

with people. I met him at a nearby airshow selling books. The books were
high on the dollar also. He is a 'motivational' speaker, he said. Nice guy to

I just finished it....great read....I have given it to my grandson so he can
have a little better understanding of why his great grandfather was like he
was!?....he used to ask me why great grandpa's business card showed the
mustang upside down!....and why I wear his wings upside down on my
vest....anyone can fly right side up....cc

Brian was burned in a T-28 accident in SEA. He almost didn't survive.

He is a nice guy. And he is, quite obviously, quite resilient.

Life is indeed strange sometimes.
I was a demonstration pilot flying a P51D back in the sixties. Our
"official" "business" cards as well as our letterheads and envelopes also
showed an inverted P51.......and here all these years we thought we had done
something original :-)

of Duty" by HR McMaster.

As usual, shipping to Brasil costs almost as much (or more) as the book
itself. Total cost of $56.55 with a 2-6 business days delivery, US$37.55

rescue mission over North Vietnam for which Dad ("Sandy 51" in the

I know that you couldn't care less Dud, but while you were having a
good ol' time flying your P-51, posing for photographs and signing
autographs for throngs of adoring fans, back in the sixties Dad was
heading off to 'Nam in a chartered DC-8 waving goodbye to his pregnant
wife and three boys while the entire family was fighting back tears
and wondering if we'll ever see each other again.
